Sherlock Holmes Weekend in Cape May! March 16-18. Solve the mystery of Sherlock Holmes and the Trial of Moriarty's Challenge! Join Holmes and Watson as they race into the maze of deceptions while they attempt solve a murder before it happens. The possible victims are many, including the Queen herself. Choose the wrong one, and all will be lost. Who is the master of this treacherous riddle? Why, Moriarty himself, of course. Get into the spirit of things by donning Victorian attire. Get Ready to Soar! The 2012 Cumberland County Winter Eagle Festival is Coming, celebrating the Raptors of South Jersey. The event is held Saturday February 11, 2012 at the Mauricetown Firehall, and runs from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. Admission - $10.00 Adults $5.00 Children 12 & under. There are special family programs, lectures, exhibits, vendors & food. Four staffed viewing sites open throughout the day. Glasstown Arts District Third Fridays Every 3rd Friday galleries, the shops & restaurants are open till 9pm or later. New exhibitions, live music, unique shopping and great food! Experience a southern New Jersey town steeped in the history of American glass making while strolling through its downtown Arts District. Excellent selection of restaurants, cafes and pubs for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Cape May County Zoo Have a wild time as you explore nearly 80 acres of beautifully maintained exhibits. With almost 200 different species of mammals, birds, amphibians and reptiles totaling nearly 550 animals, you're sure to see something new. Open every day of the year except Christmas day (weather permitting). Hours are 10:00 a.m. - 3:45 p.m. (closing at 4:45 p.m. during summer hours). There is no admission fee. The zoo is Free! The Mad Batter and Carroll Villa Hotel have gone Green! They have implemented energy-saving and environmentally friendly changes, including carpets made from corn, an energy-saving dishwasher, low-energy lights, environmentally friendly paints, energy-efficient air conditioners, and a strict glass and paper recycling policy. They also added 38 solar panels to the roof. The Mad Batter Restaurant is located in the Carroll Villa Hotel on Cape May's historic Jackson Street, and is the recipient of many critically acclaimed awards and is considered the granddaddy of Cape May's many fine restaurants.
