Avalon, a unique shore resort that projects seaward a mile farther than neighboring islands, for over 100 years it has enticed families to return summer after summer to enjoy being "Cooler By A Mile".Avalon has one of the only remaining high dune systems on the east coast. $4.00 DUNE WALKS, guided by Wetlands Institute staff, are offered Wednesday at 9:00 A.M., June 18 - September 10, at 48th Street dune path. Also, enjoy five miles of clean, wide beaches.
