The results of the 2009 New Jersey’s Top Ten Beaches Survey were released during NJMSC/NJSG's annual State of the Shore Event

(NJ's Southern Shore won 7 out 10)
1. Ocean City
2. Long Beach Island
3. Wildwood
4. Wildwood Crest
5. Asbury Park
6. North Wildwood
7. Cape May
8. Seaside Heights
9. Sea Isle City
10. Avalon
Awards were also handed out in four special categories
(and we won 3 out of 4 of those as well):
1. Best Beach for Day Trips: Ocean City
2. Best Beach for Shore Events: Wildwood
3. Best Beach for Ecotourism: Ocean City
