Dining
Something to tempt your tastebuds? NJ’s Southern Shore is home to unique and eclectic places to dine.Of course, fresh seafood and dining on the waterways in restaurants overlooking rivers, lakes, bays, harbors, inlets and the Atlantic Ocean, are a real seashore delight. Because Cape May and Cumberland counties are bordered on three sides by water, it only makes sense that some of the favorite restaurants combine good food, a fantastic view and even access by water.
How about a vacation challenge to find THE best crab cake in South Jersey. Bet you can’t do it. Know why? There are just about as many “world’s best crab cakes” as there people who have very specific opinions of what constitutes the perfect crab cake – all crab, some extras for added zip, sautéed, broiled, fried – you decide and chances are excellent that you can find your favorite at a local restaurant. And, you know what? - they’re all the best, depending on taste.
Don’t shy away from the little out of the way places – you know what they say about good things come in small packages. Sometimes the best meals, the most fun and greatest memories are from a serendipitous choice of a non-descript, off the beaten path restaurant.
Trivia question: What’s the capital of New Jersey? For those who enjoy eclectic menus, superb service and trendy ambiance that range from sophisticated elegance to shabby chic, Cape May is definitely the culinary capital of the Garden State.
Bon Appetite!
